The theme is about how dangerous hunting can be and how dangerous hunting humans can be.
The theme means that animails have feelings you learn this when your being the animal and being hunted.
I agree with skater13. At first he didn't care what animals felt. Until he was the one bing hunted and felt the animals pain and fear.
I agree with seprams85 I think the theme is the danger of hunting.
